Register now for Family Weekend 2026!

Family Weekend registration is $20 per person* – Registration includes a welcome bag with Pitt branded items and a $10 voucher to be used at The University Bookstore. Registration also includes a wristband to utilize to access the Welcome Reception, late night social programming, and a farewell brunch. Registration also includes access to the full schedule of events during Welcome Week hosted by departments and the Family Weekend team.

Registrants will also have the opportunity to sign up for a Cathedral of Learning Nationality Room tour. Tour spots are limited due to space and staff restrictions.

Families can purchase Pitt Family Tailgate tickets separately. Pitt Family Tailgate tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, September 1.

Football tickets must be purchased separately.

*Children 12 and under are free. Please indicate in your registration if you will be bringing any children under 12.

How many people are included in a registration package?

Each registration is for one person. Children 12 and under are free, please indicate if you are bringing a child(ren) at the time of registration. Children 12 and under will receive a welcome bag.

Should I include my Pitt student in the registration numbers?

No, do not include the Pitt student you are visiting in the registration number. Pitt students do need a ticket to the Pitt Family Tailgate if they plan to attend.

How can I get updates about the Family Weekend schedule?

The Family Weekend schedule will be posted on the website and the Pitt Family Connection. Registrants will have access to the full schedule with RSVP links in the Pitt Family Connection. The schedule is quickly growing and will continue to have events added into September.

I registered online, where are my tickets?

You will receive a reminder email closer to Family Weekend with a QR code. That code will be used for on-campus check in. The code can also be saved to your Apple wallet for easy scanning during check in.

If you accidentally delete your confirmation email, don’t worry. We will be able to look up your registration, it may take a few more minutes, but we will be able to get you checked in for a wonderful Family Weekend.

What happens if registration or events reach capacity?

Registration will close on Monday, September 14. We are anticipating a large number of visiting families during Family Weekend. Some events may fill to room capacity, we will wait until people depart to safely allow others to enter.

Family Weekend is a busy and exciting time on campus. We ask that families enjoy the energy on campus and have patience with the large crowds on campus.

Events hosted by departments may require RSVP and may fill to capacity. Those RSVP links will be shared

Is my Family Weekend registration fee refundable?

Family Weekend registration cancellations made before September 14, 2026 will receive a refund. Cancellations received after September 14, 2026 will not receive a refund. Refunds may take up to 30 days to process from the time of cancellation. Cancellations and registration changes should be emailed to parents@pitt.edu.

All football game ticket sales are final, and no refunds will be offered.

Can I edit my registration information?

Yes, you can edit your registration information or change your registration package by sending an email to parents@pitt.edu.
